How to wrap a Toub/Lafaya & Melhfa

When it comes to wrapping the Toub, practice makes perfect.

Principle:

  1. Start by wearing an undergarment that covers your entire body. This is usually a long-sleeved shirt and trousers or maxi skirt, but some people may wear a full-length dress.

  2. Hold one end of the toub in your right hand and drape it over your head, letting the fabric fall down your back. The length of the toub should be long enough to reach the ground when you are standing.

  3. Take the excess fabric and wrap it around your body, starting at the waist and going down to your feet. The fabric should be loose and flowing, but not dragging on the ground.

  4. Hold the fabric in place with your right hand, and use your left hand to gather the fabric on the left side of the toub and wrap it around your body in the same way.

  5. Bring the two ends of the toub together in front of your body and secure them with a belt or tie.

  6. Take the other end of the toub and wrap it around your head, covering your neck and shoulders. The fabric should cover your chest, but not be too tight.

  7. Tuck the end of the toub under your left arm, making sure it is secure.

  8. Adjust the fabric as needed to make sure it is comfortable and covering your body completely.

This is just one way to wrap a toub, and there may be variations depending on the region and personal preference. Watch the videos below for more further guidance.
