Fasting is one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith, and during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast every day from sunrise to sunset.
The pre-dawn meal is known as Suhoor, and the fast-breaking meal eaten after sunset is called Iftar.

Sobolo / Zobo Drink

Dried Hibiscus leaves
Fresh Ginger
Lemon
Cloves
Honey or Sugar

1 teaspoon
To taste
Instructions
Boil hibiscus leaves, ginger, lemon & cloves in water for about 15 min.
Allow the mixture to cool then strain into a bowl.
Add honey &/or sugar to taste, mix well
Transfer the drink to a serving jar
Chill before serving
Thiakry Pudding
Ingredients

Natural Yoghurt
Double Cream
Single Cream
Water
Millet Couscous
Vanilla Essence
Sugar
500ml
500ml
500ml
2 cups
1 cup
1/4teaspoon
To taste
Instructions
Boil the millet couscous in water until soft.
Strain the millet coucous and leave it on a plate to cool
Add natural yoghurt, double cream, single cream to a bowl & mix well
Add vanilla essence and sugar to the bowl. Mix well
